Have you ever noticed that in watch advertisements, the watches are usually set at 10 past 10? Well, it seems that there’s a pretty good reason for it. According to Andrew Block, executive vice president of the watch dealer Tourneau, watches are set to 10:10 because being set that way, they can nicely frame the brand and the logo.The watch has the desireable "Big Crown" case configuration, with the far more robust 15XX series movement. Often examples of 5510s sans gilt dials are mated with 5512 gilt dials (Which are far more common), however the astute collector will note that the 5512 dials are actually 1mm smaller in diameter than 5510 dials, producing an odd gap . It’s the time: 10 minutes past 10, two minutes give or take. These are just a few watches that show us 10:10. If you Google the word ‘watch’, most of the image results will reveal dials at 10:10. In case you are among the curious people who have tried to decode ‘10:10’, let’s just put it out there—there is no definite or absolute .Ref. 1675: With the added "Pop" of the all-red 24 hour hand, this GMT is simply beautiful.
